Stress and Your Immune System

The immune system is one of the key steps in becoming a cancer survivor. The health of your immune system is affected by many things. I will be highlighting a few so that you can start healing.

According to Dr Bruce Lipton, PhD, cellular biologist and author of the New York Times Bestseller The Biology of Belief, concluded that 95% of all illness is created by stress.

Now you may say to yourself, “What’s the big deal? That’s not so radical! We’ve all heard about stress related illness for years. ” And, you would be absolutely right. However… What is radical, what is truly a “big deal”, is this:

Stress does NOT come from outside sources!!!
You read that right… Stress does not come from things like:
• Jobs we hate,
 • Stacks of unpaid bills,
 • Messy relationships, or
 • Pain-in-the-neck relatives.

It’s not your circumstances. 
That’s right.  The stress that keeps you from living the life you want to live is not your life circumstances. 

Let me prove it to you.  Two people are in traffic.  One is in road-rage – honking his horn, cussing, blood-pressure sky-rocketing, talking angrily on the phone.  The guy in the car next to him is cool as a cucumber – singing, enjoying himself, laughing on the phone.  Same stress.  Totally different physical and emotional reactions. 

Let’s get a little more tangible.  Ten people are exposed to a virus. Five people get it, five people don’t.
So what’s the difference?  It can’t be circumstances because everyone reacts differently to the same circumstances.  It must be stress!

The million-dollar question is, “Where does the stress come from if it’s not circumstances?”

Wise old King Solomon tells us where the stress comes from in ancient manuscript more than 3,000 years old.  Here it is…this can transform your life:  “Guard your heart above everything else, for from it flow (all) the issues of life.” 
The stress comes from the heart.  Not the physical heart, the “I love you with all my heart,” heart. 
What exactly is the “Heart”?
It is the storehouse of all of our memories and beliefs. 

How does this all fit together? 
Everything that is happening to you right now – whether you’re at work, on vacation, taking a test, in traffic, on the football field – is being run through all of your life experiences.

You know these life experiences as “memories.”  If you have any beliefs or memories related to what is going on in your life that contain fear, anger, sadness, pain, trauma, disappointment, confusion, etc., there is a mechanism in your brain that will flip the “stress switch.” 

Over time, stress creates any problem we have in our life.  And, one of the first things it does is to turn off your immune system. 

On the other hand, when you heal the memories that have lies in them (which are our “wrong beliefs”) then the stress decreases and the immune system can turn back on.
