Americans Exposed to Atomic Bomb Levels of Radiation through Medical Imaging, CT Scans, Mammograms

(NaturalNews) A new report released by the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement reveals that Americans’ exposure to radiation has increased more than 600 percent over the last three decades. Most of that increase has come from patients’ exposure to radiation through medical imaging scans such as CT scans and mammograms.

I received this information from a friend whose mother recently passed away. Apparently, this was caused by a medication that is deadly. Here are the details, and I suggest you pass it on to your loved ones and others.

I would like to thank those of you who expressed condolences on the recent passing of my mother. She suffered a hemorrhagic stroke while she was driving home from my house on July 30th and passed away on August 3rd. The use of mouthwashes that contain alcohol as an ingredient can drastically increase a person’s risk of cancers of the mouth, head and neck, according to a study conducted by researchers from the Australia’s University of Melbourne and University of Queensland School of Dentistry.

Researchers studied use of mouthwash among 3,210 people and compared it with rates of mouth, head and neck cancers.

“We see people with oral cancer who have no other risk factors than the use of [mouthwash containing alcohol], so what we’ve done is review all the evidence,” said lead researcher Michael McCullough, chair of the Australian Dental Association’s therapeutics committee,

The researchers found that all participants who used an alcohol-containing mouthwash at least once per day had a significantly increased risk of cancer, independent of other risk factors such as smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages. Among those who both used alcohol-containing mouthwash and regularly drank alcoholic beverages, the risk of cancers of the larynx, pharynx or oral cavity was five times that of people who drank but did not use mouthwash. The risk of cancer in people who smoked and used alcohol-containing mouthwashes was an astonishing nine times that of non-mouthwash-using smokers.

“Since this article, further evidence has come out,” McCullough said. “We believe there should be warnings. If it was a facial cream that had the effect of reducing acne but had a four to fivefold increased risk of skin cancer, no one would be recommending it.”

The body breaks down alcohol, also known as ethanol, into a carcinogenic compound called acetaldehyde. The researchers note that due to the way that mouthwash is swished around, acetaldehyde may thereby accumulate in the oral cavity.

In addition, the researchers believe that alcohol makes mucus membranes more permeable to other chemicals, allowing nicotine and other carcinogens increased access to the body’s tissues.

Hormone Replacement Therapy is near to my heart because the doctors pretty much made me take it before they would let me out of the hospital.  I was 36 years old.  Cancer Survivor speaker Sheila Ulrich, told them a day would come when HRT was found to be harmful.  Are we at that day?

Hormone Replacement Therapy Doubles Risk of Breast Cancer, Women Warne to Stop HRT Drugs

Drug companies can no longer deny the science: Breast cancer risk is doubled for women who take conventional Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) drugs.

That’s the conclusion of a new study conducted at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. There, researchers discovered that even though HRT drugs double a woman’s risk of breast cancer, that risk drops rapidly once she stops using the HRT drugs.

Notably, these increased cancer risk findings only apply to synthetic HRT drugs produced by Big Pharma. They do not apply to bio-identical hormones offered by compounding pharmacies and naturopathic physicians.

So let’s put the pieces of this puzzle together. We have a drug company, Wyeth, that sells a synthetic HRT drug known to double the risk of breast cancer. But instead of pulling the drug off the market, Wyeth files a petition with the FDA to eliminate the competition (bio-identical hormones).

At the same time, Wyeth organizes a campaign of ghost-written articles to be submitted to medical journals, touting the many benefits of HRT drugs and ignoring the 2002 research showing them to be correlated with higher risks of breast cancer. To deceive the scientific community, Wyeth purposely withholds any information about its own role in those papers, making readers believe they were authored by independent academics.

Are you starting to get the picture here?

My question is simple: How many women have died of breast cancer because of the actions of Wyeth? How many more women will suffer the ravages of chemotherapy or radiation therapy as a result of a disease that may have been accelerated by Big Pharma’s HRT drugs? And how long will this nation continue to tolerate the fraud of Big Pharma before cracking down on the corruption and crime taking place in this industry right now?

Women should be up in arms over this. They were lied to by yet another drug company, and the very government agency that was supposed to protect them (the FDA) sold them out and actually took aggressive action to eliminate natural alternatives, thereby contributing to the needless deaths of women from breast cancer.

These are not innocent administrative mistakes, folks: In my opinion, these are well-planned conspiracies between Big Pharma and the FDA that seek to maximize corporate profits at the expense of human lives. These are crimes against women, committed by some of the most powerful and insidious white-collar criminals this world has ever seen. And unlike Wall Street criminals who may cost you your savings, these Big Pharma / FDA criminals engage in actions that may cost you your life!

Why does the FDA continue to allow these HRT drugs to be sold if they double the risk of cancer? Can you imagine the outcry if a nutritional supplement were found to double the risk of cancer? It would be immediately banned, and the FDA would announce how it was outlawing the herb in order to “protect consumers.” But when it’s a drug that doubles cancer risk, the FDA does nothing.

Why do medical criminals go free while Wall Street criminals go to jail? Why has Big Pharma been allowed to operate with such deceptions for so long?

Because it makes so much easy money, that’s why. The drug companies have proven again and again that ethics will never stand in the way of profits.

Always do so under the supervision of a naturopathic physician, of course, and if necessary, consider bio-identical hormones as a replacement. An integrative approach to healing anything is the key for all of us.  Integrative Medicine is more common now than 5 years ago.  Some hospitals have a division of department for Integrative Medicine.  We must combine the best of all disciplines to heal ourselves and to heal society in general.  The rate of disease is so great right now.  This is the time to work together and find the best that works.

There are many paths to take in your cancer survivor journey and different treatment options.  Choose what feels right for you.  Not one path is the answer for everyone.  Not one path works for everyone.  There isn’t one answer yet to cure cancer.  But whatever you do and whatever you choose, choose with knowledge and wisdom.

I had surgery to remove an orange size melanoma tumor from my ovary and at the time they thought it had spread to all my organs.  During one conversation with my oncologist we were discussing the size and mitotic rate of my cancer.  They estimated 60 million melanoma cells and a very high rate of growth. 

 Then I asked, “So you stick your big hands inside of me and pull out a 9 centimeter tumor, could have you dropped some of those 60 million cancer cells? Could these cells that could have been dropped travel somewhere else and start growing?” Of course his answer was yes.  I told him please, please don’t tell people you got it all!  We don’t understand.  Then a year or two or five years down the road when we have another big tumor growing inside of us, we say I thought you got it all.

Our doctors can do surgery to remove a tumor or use drugs or chemo to poison the cancer cells or use radiation to burn the cancer cells.  But what do they do to prevent them from growing somewhere else?  My doctors couldn’t tell me.  I hope and pray they are now telling the millions of people suffering with cancer.  This is the big question for all of us.

What can we do to help our bodies be whole?  What can we do to heal our cells and organs and our body systems?

One thing I know for sure is God gave us the foods we need on this earth to feed our bodies, so we must use them appropriately.

The second thing I know for sure is that once we have surgery, chemo and radiation our bodies are under a great deal of stress and toxicity and it is harder for them to destroy any abnormal cell growth.  To have cancer our bodies already are not functioning properly.  Then add treatment to the mix and we could have a prime environment for more cancer.

The third thing I know for sure is we have to rebuild and strengthen our bodies to function as they were intended.  We know the immune system is key to this.  So build your immune system.

Whatever your choice of treatment, there are things you can do to help your body heal.  Ask your doctor, it is critical in your survival.  Don’t be caught one year or several years down the road with another tumor without doing everything you know to heal body, mind and spirit.

After speaking with several people the last few days about cancer, one thing kept ringing in my ears louder and louder!  And the doctors are still not telling the millions of people with cancer!!

We trust our doctors and listen to them and believe they are doing everything they can to help save our lives.  This is true in most cases.  But my experience tells me they don’t have all the tools.  And if you don’t have the tools, you can’t use the tools, and if you don’t have the tools, you can’t share the tools.

Speaking from personal experience only, I know when I asked the most obvious question to my team of doctors, their faces dropped and they said, I don’t know how!!

This story starts at the beginning of my cancer survivor story.  I didn’t know anything really about cancer, not a lot about health and healing and certainly nothing about natural medicine.  I studied the diagnosis and test results.  I listened to my team of doctors and evaluated the options for treatment they presented.

Then I asked the question I thought everyone asked.  “Okay, if you remove the tumors in surgery, that’s great, what next?  Obviously my body is not performing appropriately if I am growing tumors.  Something is wrong with my cells, or systems or processes or something.  So, what are we going to do to build my body and heal my body so my cells won’t keep doing the wrong thing?”

Their faces went blank, as if I asked something they had never heard before.  Now you got to remember, I was new at this cancer thing.  I just assumed this question was asked several times a day.  This is what these doctors did every day, all day, for thousands of patients.  I assumed they had an answer.  I was so confused at the reaction and I didn’t understand.  What weren’t they telling me?  Why are they avoiding my question?  What am I missing here?

I didn’t understand the magnitude of this response for a few years.

Then I was told, “We don’t know how to do that!”

Well to me it was the most obvious question that would lead to the best chance of survival, HEAL the body.  I kept thinking, good they can get rid of the BIG tumor, but what about the rest of the cells.  What makes them believe they won’t keep multiplying and create another tumor?  Is this how cancer works?  Can’t be.  I didn’t want to believe it.  I must be missing something.

Then they kept saying my melanoma would be back soon, but I couldn’t get a good plan out of them on how to heal my cells and systems and body.  So I had to do something to help myself.  This is when I started my journey into natural healing and integrative medicine.  I learned all I could and began healing body, mind and spirit.

 Seemingly healthy cells may spread to distant parts of the body long before any cancerous tumors are visible, researchers have discovered. This suggests that the virulence of a specific case of cancer might actually be determined early in the disease, perhaps even before diagnosis.

At issue is a phenomenon called metastasis, by which cancer cells spread from one organ to a non-adjacent organ. Cancers that have metastasized are particularly lethal and hard to treat; the majority of lethal breast cancers, for example, are metastatic.

“These findings indicate that properties inherent in normal cells are sufficient for negotiating a significant portion of the metastatic cascade,” lead researcher Dr Katrina Podsypanina said. “Our data seems to point toward the inherent decision that is made when the tumor is formed whether it is highly malignant or not.”

The findings might explain the mystery of why some cancers have such high rates of metastasis and recurrence. Breast cancer is one such disease, with roughly 20 percent of women who are free of cancer five years after diagnosis suffering a recurrence some time in the following 10 years.

Previously, researchers had thought that metastasis could only occur in the late stages of cancer, when highly developed cancer cells break off from tumors and enter the circulatory or lymphatic systems. They had thought that prior to this point, cells would be unable to survive the journey and establish themselves in other organs.

In the current study, published in the journal Science, Podsypanina and colleagues at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center in New York injected mice with mammary (breast) cells that had been genetically modified to contain an “oncogene” that could be switched on to turn them cancerous. These cells were observed to travel through the blood and establish colonies in the lungs, where they were able to survive for up to 16 weeks.

They did not begin to form tumors, however, until their oncogenes were switched on. At that point, they rapidly developed into aggressive tumors without passing through the traditional early stage.

For comparison, the researchers also injected mice with non-modified mammary cells. In these mice, too, the breast cells established colonies in the lungs that were observed to grow and proliferate. These clusters of mammary cells never became malignant, however. When they were removed and implanted into other mice, they developed into normal, apparently healthy breast tissue.

“The finding that metastatic disease can arise from untransformed mammary cells in the circulation refines our conception of cancer progression,” the researchers said.

The researchers and other cancer experts cautioned that more research is needed before it can be known for sure whether healthy cells are really involved in the spread of cancer. For one thing, it is not clear why or how healthy cells would get to other parts of the body in the first place, or how they would be activated once there.

“This does suggest that cells can sit for a long time, and then be activated,” said Claudine Isaacs of Georgetown University. “But these cells were injected into the circulation. Normal breast cells are not supposed to be in the circulation.”

In addition, the same effect might not occur in humans as in mice.

Yet if the implications of the study are correct, it might be possible to develop new cancer treatments that prevent the disease from spreading and becoming more lethal.

“If follow-up research suggested that dissemination of normal breast cells can account for metastatic relapse in breast cancer patients (a hypothetical situation, at present), we would argue that treatment strategies should aim to compromise viability and/or proliferation of normal breast cells, and not just breast tumor cells,” they said.

“It’s definitely conceptually very profound,” Podsypanina said.
