Good health is the key to a happy and contented life. If we think of
health we make health our companion. If we think of our bodies as
weak and diseased, the power of our own negative
thought-conditioning is prone to be out pictured in our bodies as
weakness and disease.
It is said that we draw to us the conditions we are predominantly
thinking about. In what has become a classic, author Earl
Nightingale refers to what he calls “The Strangest Secret,” which
is: “We become what we think about.”
He goes on to say that it’s not really a secret at all because it
has been repeated throughout the ages in different ways. In the
book of Proverbs we read, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Among many references to this “secret” Jesus said, “According to
your faith, be it done unto you” and “As you sow, so shall you
reap” and “Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find;
knock and it shall be opened unto you.”
We are all here to love ourselves and then share that love with others.
We are all created in love and our true essence is love. When we experience this as ourself, we can share it with the rest of God’s creation. Love is the energy we communicate in. We can all feel it. Can YOU?
This is a powerful expression of love. One little girl loving and giving of her love as her family experiences cancer. This is a 20 second video. Feel it and share it.
Your presence is a gift to the world,
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be –
Take it one day at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles,
And you will make it through what comes along.
Within you are so many answers,
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don’t put limits on yourself,
Your dreams are waiting to be realized.
Don’t leave your important decisions to chance –
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying –
The longer a problem is carried, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things too seriously –
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way –
Remember that a lot goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment,
Life’s treasures are people…together.
We lose ourselves in this thing we call life. We forget who we are and what we came here for. We begin to believe we are all these experiences we are having. Through our experiences, we form beliefs and then we live out these beliefs over and over.
But we are not our thoughts, beliefs, and experiences. They exist outside of us.
We have a choice every moment to love and accept ourselves and create the life we choose. So many of us spend our time hoping, wishing, planning and scheming for our lives to be different than what they already are. We have used so much energy and time trying to create situations other than the one that we have, and end up missing the life in front our noses today.
Love is the essence of who we are. It is an energy of our spirit. It is that which we are made. Love is infinite.
Love is hard to know until we experience it in the depths of our being. Love is known when we know ourselves again.
This is how the dictionary defines love.
“Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure to intense interpersonal attraction.”
It points us to the feelings and emotions we experience once we discover our spirit. Words used to describe love fall short. I don’t believe we have human words to describe the all-knowing and infinite.
We can only truly love others when we love ourselves!
Through my journey, the wisdom I was given is profound. I realized I cannot truly heal until I love myself unconditionally.
Love is the first step to everything in life. That is the foundation of everything we create and get in our lives. Too bad that isn’t the first subject taught in kindergarten, before the ABC’s.
I heard those words of wisdom flying home from Houston. I heard and wrote the words. To be whole, I had to heal body, mind emotions and spirit. But that was at the beginning of this journey. I had no idea what that meant. I had no idea where that profound wisdom was going to take me for 14 years.
It really seems all so simple. Why do we make it so hard?
We think that our biggest challenges in life come from our kids or our work and careers. But our biggest challenge in life is to love ourselves completely. We carry so much guilt and pain around with us that we don’t even realize. Imagine this guilt and pain from years and years of our life as stuffed in suitcases. The suitcases eventually get so heavy it is hard to walk around with them. We try to lug them around and it slows us down. We don’t understand why things aren’t working, or why we can’t move forward, or why life seems so hard. We are carrying a heavy load, often unconscious.
I truly believe what will set us free to live life joyfully and in peace is loving ourselves and others unconditionally.
When everything else is stripped away, nothing else matters, and all there is left is love.
I remember laying in my hospital bed, crying uncontrollably after hearing the news of my cancer diagnosis. With such fear crawling through my entire being, I was lost and alone, but yet it all seemed so clear at the time. Nothing really mattered except love. Love for and from all the people around me.
Why is it so hard to love ourselves and others unconditionally?
I envy Kevin. My brother, Kevin, thinks God lives under his bed. At least that’s what I heard him say one night.
He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom, and I stopped to listen, ‘Are you there, God?’ he said. ‘Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed…’
I giggled softly and tiptoed off to my own room. Kevin’s unique perspectives are often a source of amusement. But that night something else lingered long after the humor. I realized for the first time the very different world Kevin lives in.
He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. Apart from his size (he’s 6-foot-2), there are few ways in which he is an adult.

I am so glad that you listened to that quiet voice within. I think most of my colleagues are so busy remembering the indications and side effects of a host of chemotherapy drugs, that they have forgotten those voices even exist.
Dr. Lynne
